Sossego is simply, a love letter to Brazil. Brazilian culture was always inspiring to me. Through my life I always felt a connection with it. It is a substantial part of my soul and my personality. It all started with football of course and players like Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Kaka, Roberto Carlos and many more afterwards. After that my love for Brazil developed with cinematography starting with the movie City of God or better known as Cidade de Deus. In High School I researched a lot about Brazilian music. It was the music of Tim Maia and the song O Caminho do Bem that intrigued me to learn more about Brazilian music and all of the different genres: Bossa Nova, Soul, Funk, even their Hip-Hop music.
All of that led to this moment. After years of working on this brand, it’s finally bound to happen. Sossego emerges as a streetwear brand from Belgrade rooted in the vibrant spirit of Brazil, a nation where football, culture, and street life intertwine. Our debut collection celebrates this unique identity, blending history, brutalist aesthetics, and storytelling into every piece.
The first chapter of the collection draws inspiration from Brazil’s unforgettable victory at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Featuring a hoodie and a T-shirt, these designs are modern reinterpretations of iconic football shirts, crafted to honor the nation’s enduring love for the beautiful game.
This part of the collection finds its roots in the cinematic masterpiece City of God, channeling the intensity and resilience of Brazil’s urban landscape. Yet, its creative heart beats just as strongly in Belgrade. The stark, commanding aesthetic of brutalist architecture found throughout the city — especially along Vojvode Stepe Street, where Sossego was born — mirrors Brazil’s raw urban soul.
The brutalist concrete blocks of Belgrade and the lively favelas of Brazil share a common language of survival, creativity, and defiance. Sossego bridges these worlds, blending the grit and authenticity of both cultures into designs that celebrate individuality, freedom, and the enduring power of street life.
